I feel rather more excited by the prospect of seasons and change now I have my new camera, so this weekend I got clicking in the Hascombe countryside, just like the guy in the advert ...

Happy as a Pig in shit ...

I was, on my friends farm. I went to help them with alot of clearing that needs doing. Many hands make light work, or so the saying goes, however in this case it will be years of work, but well worth it I am sure. I will admit to getting sidetracked after being very kindly fed to take these photos ...

Chicken clones

And then there were four...

We had two beautiful new arrivals to our Chicken home this weekend. Amazingly they seem to be clones of Nancy and Marjorie our current two. They all seem to be getting along nicely. The new birds, Gladys and Hilary seem slightly nervous, but I think the other two are showing them the ropes. Its amazing how attached I have become to our original two already, they are very warm toward us now, they come bouncing over for strokes and food. I hope our new girls settle in soon.

Waverley Abbey

Waverley Abbey was founded in 1128, it was the first Cistercian abbey to be established in England. Now that is pretty old, there is not all that much left of of it to be honest but that just means my imagination can fill in the gaps.

My timing was perfect, not another person to be seen or heard, the ruins were mine to enjoy and the light was perfect.

Watch this space - Grape Chutney coming soon

I believe we have enough grapes to grant us as official Grape Farmers of Surrey, however there was not much farming involved. Helped along by a very warm summer they did all the work themselves.

Oh to be a Cat ...

I often think it would be nice to be a cat, if it were not for the grooming.
All those fur balls would put me right off. Just like people think how glamorous it would be to be a bird, they only think about the joy of flying free through the air, what they dont do is stop and think about all the preening, then it doesnt seem quite so glamorous anymore.
